A property is a building or site you manage; units are the individual rentable spaces inside it (flats, offices, houses, shop spaces). Leases, payments, maintenance, and inspections all attach to units, so an accurate property/unit structure keeps the rest of your records clean.
Adding a property
- 1
Open Properties → Add Property
Enter the property name, type, and physical address. The property name is what tenants see on invoices and reports.
- 2
Add units
From the property page, open Units and add each rentable unit with its unit number, type, size, and monthly rent.
- 3
Review the property page
Each property page shows its units, current occupancy, and quick links into leases and maintenance for that property.
Managing units
Units carry their own rent amount, status, and details. When a lease is created for a unit, it is treated as occupied; when the lease ends, the unit becomes available again. You can edit a unit at any time from the property page or the Units list.
One unit, one active lease
A unit should only have one active lease at a time. If several people share a unit, add them as co-tenants on the same lease instead of creating multiple leases.
